On December 6th, the Indiana Historical Society presented the Caleb Mills Indiana History Teacher of the Year award to Becky Boyle, TAH participant and 8th-grade history teacher at Batchelor Middle School, Bloomington. The Caleb Mills Indiana History Teacher of the Year award, named in honor of Caleb Mills, the father of Indiana’s common schools, is given annually to a teacher at the lower or upper level currently teacher American history or Indiana history and recognized by his or her colleagues as making a significant contribution to the understanding of these two fields by his or her students.

In addition to serving as a teacher in the MCCSC since 1998, participation in professional development and extracurricular opportunities, serving on school-based and district-wide committees, and serving as a trainer, mentor, and student teacher supervisor are priorities for Becky. She has also served as a National History Day in Indiana sponsor.
